Happy Thursday friends!  We've survived the better part of this week; well, almost.   I don't know about you but I'm getting increasingly annoyed and frustrated with my ole' winter clothes.  So much so I'm welcoming 50 degree weather the next day or so with open arms, even if it is short lived.  Spring, are you out there?

I hope you all agree that it's perfectly acceptable to wear flannel into spring.  Especially around these parts where the temps fluctuate drastically.  I'm still obsessed with plaid and even though I have a style in a lighter springier hue I still reach for this one.   The red gets me every time!

As we enjoy the melt down stay dry puddle jumping!

So while I'm on this kick of shout outs, I'd like to recognize Alissa from The Adorned Life because her series on how to take and edit better blog photos was near life changing for me.  That and she's freaking adorable and fun, who wouldn't want to get to know her?  I've been using iPhoto to do the normal fixing of exposure a little sharpness here and there; but, honestly the tools there are minimal and not technical at all as far as detail on your images go.
I don't have Photoshop, I have been using Pixelmator, which is a close second.  I can say that because I've actually used Adobe before and find that the tools are the same.  Just different navigating the programs.   Not only that but she breaks down what you're doing to your image with what settings on your camera.  Honestly, I've read the flipping manual on my Canon Rebel a gagillion times and still wasn't getting it.  Honestly, it's vague (to put it lightly).

Onto my outfit; a coworker said I looked very 70's inspired and I immediately thought this would be a look Jackie would rock all day long.  Her and Kelso skipping through the snow trails....
This chain necklace is also my new favorite accessory, I can't stop wearing it!

Thank goodness for awesome bloggers and tutorials.  This outfit came from Merrick's business card illustration  I knew I had all the pieces to make this outfit and honestly I had never thought of this layered look(seriously, what is wrong with me?).   I am open to any outfit idea and inspiration to make my clothes feel new and awesome again.   I am getting serious tunnel vision on how to wear my current winter closet.

Last week I didn't have a very good time getting my booty to the gym; I did manage to work in a few pilates videos (28 Day Pilates Challenge) and a couple yoga sessions.  I'm glad to be back in routine this week!  How is your week going?

mix it: camo layers

jacket - wet seal, similar, similar // shirt - j.crew // leggings - no name, similar // boots - american eagle, similar // necklace - instagram boutique, similar

Happy Monday!  My girlfriends and I decided that this weekend we would get out of the house and went for lunch and walked around my neighborhood in the city for a good portion of the day Saturday.  It was amazing being out of the house, the cabin fever is setting in big time.   The more you sit around inside the less you want to do anything, it's a vicious cycle but I'm glad that I broke it!

I've worn this camo jacket here, here, and here
How would you style it?

TNT

TNT - I'm dynamite.

Tweed and Tulle, that is...  I am so happy I was able to copy Cathy's outfit.  On Saturday I was drooling over a few looks I wanted to recreate from pieces in my closet, remember?  Well, as soon as I pinned that one I went skipping into my closet (yes, skipping) and scooped up these items and laid them out.

Anyways, this ModCloth skirt is becoming a true staple in my closet.   Which, for me, is totally unexpected since I'm really a tshirt and jeans/tomboy kind of gal.  I do love getting dressed up and wearing heels, though, and I love that this blazer totally tones down the fluffy tulle skirt.

Thank you for the book suggestions yesterday!  I have to get on it.  Winter is my reading season; being locked up inside all weekend long with the snow falling, and falling...   If you remember, one of my resolutions was to read more so I'll be trying to keep with that theme throughout the year.

How is everyone's weeks going?  We've made it to Hump Day!
Keep on keeping' on...

in the red

coat - h&m, similar // shirt - h&m, similar // jeans - gap // shoes - gift, similar

I hope your week is off to a great start!  Is anybody reading any good books?  I'm looking for a new one as I just finished Veronica Roth's Divergent series; it was awesome, if you like that type of futuristic storyline I suggest you pick them up.  Quick and easy reads.
This red coat is one of my favorite pieces in my closet; so versatile and classic.  I stole the idea from Pinterest to layer my tiny necklaces with a  button up.  I just love the somewhat messy look of it.   That's what it's all about in this outfit; my shirt is a wrinkled mess (sorry mom), the jeans with the messy cuff, my hair freshly tousled...  I'm a model, right? Right.

Well I better stop procrastinating and get this yoga workout in - have a great Tuesday!
