wishing for spring

As we patiently wait for the weather to relax it's fun to dream of soft pinks, paisley and acid wash jeans for our spring wardrobes.
I was never big on paisley in the past but now I'm dying for it! It incorporates so many colors in that intricate pattern.
Acid wash jeans - talk about a trend to make you go hmm....  Brings me back to the early 90's. Yet,  I love them and want a pair. Weird...
Oversized Karen Walker sunnies - truly a "wash list" only item, if only I could.  *sigh*
And that bag? Swoon!! A bag of that color would be sensible for any season really but especially lovely for spring!

What is on your wish list?

tee and jeans

blazer - target // tee - j.crew // jeans - gap // loafers - target, similar

I wore this outfit on Valentine's day.  I just love dressing up a tee and jeans with a pop of lip color, blingy earrings and a cute blazer; the loafers added a bit of a masculine touch to the outfit.   While everyone else sported red I went with neutrals.
I love the feel of this tee.  I don't buy often from J.Crew but when I do I'm always pleased with the result.  I allowed myself a few expensive treats this month since I had gotten my tax return back.  This tee and the light wash chambray worn in this post were what I snagged.   I wish I could shop there more often, alas, a girls gotta eat!
Did you all enjoy your weekend, did you shop the sales??
I shopped a teeny bit at the gap.  There were just too many staples on sale that I needed to replace (leggings, white tee) and they had them for a steal!   I also bought a few things for my apartment - another room coming to this blog soon!  This time I'll share the before and after photos.

Happy Monday peeps!

weekend inspiration

1 // 2 // 3

We made it through another wintry week and are into a weekend.  Luckily the temps are going to get into the high 40's by the end of this coming week and I'm just counting down.   These are three of my favorited looks I pinned this week...

1. You may have seen on Instagram I picked up a cute black moto at target early this week.  I can't wait to double up on denim and toss on that moto with my leopard pumps as Helena did.

2. Kelsey nailed a wintry girly look!  I adore how she paired a bejeweled navy sweater with a girly pleated skirt.  Giving me inspiration for more ways to wear my tulle number...

3. Samantha of Could I have that? totally nailed the quintessential winter look with an oversized sweater, leather leggings and ankle boots.   Loving it and I'm jealous that she walked all over NY in those booties; adorable, but ouch!

A week at AT40BF...

Remixed my Camo Jacket
Shared the first in my Blogger Apartment series as I redecorate my new space.
Loving this striped dress layered look
Still styling my fur vests in different ways this winter
Sharing a hot HIIT workout and working through seasonal depression

Hope you have a happy weekend friends!

{FITNESS FRIDAY} seasonal depression?

I have come to the realization that I'm going through seasonal depression.  Normally I do hit the typical cabin fever this time of year but I'm feeling it worse than ever.   Anyone else feeling this?  I don't want to get out of bed in the morning when I do get up I certainly don't want to endure the 9 below to head to the gym.
To get myself out of this rut and into a good routine I'm going to make a schedule.  Yes, that sounds supremely Type A but I know that it's the only thing that will break the habit I've fallen into.

My goal is to start this coming week with this schedule
Sunday: Long run day
Monday: Yoga/Pilates Day
Tuesday: Strength
Wednesday: Strength
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Strength
Saturday: Yoga/Pilates

Are you feeling the winter pain, does a schedule keep you on track?

I've been dying to try this recipe!

that 70's show

faux fur, panama hat, leopard, chain necklace

So while I'm on this kick of shout outs, I'd like to recognize Alissa from The Adorned Life because her series on how to take and edit better blog photos was near life changing for me.  That and she's freaking adorable and fun, who wouldn't want to get to know her?  I've been using iPhoto to do the normal fixing of exposure a little sharpness here and there; but, honestly the tools there are minimal and not technical at all as far as detail on your images go.
I don't have Photoshop, I have been using Pixelmator, which is a close second.  I can say that because I've actually used Adobe before and find that the tools are the same.  Just different navigating the programs.   Not only that but she breaks down what you're doing to your image with what settings on your camera.  Honestly, I've read the flipping manual on my Canon Rebel a gagillion times and still wasn't getting it.  Honestly, it's vague (to put it lightly).

Onto my outfit; a coworker said I looked very 70's inspired and I immediately thought this would be a look Jackie would rock all day long.  Her and Kelso skipping through the snow trails....
This chain necklace is also my new favorite accessory, I can't stop wearing it!

Tackle it Thursday!

stripes & tights

dress - old navy, similar, similar // chambray - old navy // tights - target // shoes - old navy, similar
// down parka - lands end, similar

Thank goodness for awesome bloggers and tutorials.  This outfit came from Merrick's business card illustration  I knew I had all the pieces to make this outfit and honestly I had never thought of this layered look(seriously, what is wrong with me?).   I am open to any outfit idea and inspiration to make my clothes feel new and awesome again.   I am getting serious tunnel vision on how to wear my current winter closet.

Last week I didn't have a very good time getting my booty to the gym; I did manage to work in a few pilates videos (28 Day Pilates Challenge) and a couple yoga sessions.  I'm glad to be back in routine this week!  How is your week going?

blogger apartment

Since I don't have an outfit for you today I thought I'd share a few snaps from my living room that I took this weekend.  This space is a work in progress.  But, it's my space.

The living room is almost finished.  The wall with Audrey will eventually be a gallery wall.  I'm slowing taking shots and gathering prints to hang there.  I love all the punches of color, I hate the rickety old book shelf...  There are always things to replace and improve.
All of my inspiration for ideas are housed on Pinterest.

What ideas do you have for your space?
