leopard and a LBD

coat - old navy (exact on ebay) (similar) // dress - h&m (similar) // belt - charlotte ruse (similar) // shoes - gap (similar) (splurge)

This is a dress that I've rediscovered in my closet.   It's simple and can easily be paired with anything.   This week is going by much too slowly, I can't wait for the weekend!!
Does anybody have any cool plans?   I have a happy hour for work on Friday (those are always fun and interesting) and a dance competition Saturday.

Happy Ghouls day folks!

get in my closet!

I've been trying to spend as little money as possible lately.  With my new apartment costs and the fact that I pulled out practically a whole new wardrobe with my fall/winter clothes I hoped I could make it until after the holidays with just a handbag purchase and new black pumps.   That doesn't mean I don't still have the gimme's.   I'm constantly filling up shopping carts all over the inter webs and then "x"ing out of the window.   If I were spending money this is what I'd be buying...

A cozy cream chunky knit sweater for a crisp fall walk through the leaves with a latte and great company.
Adorable grey oxfords to complete my menswear closet.
A fall colored crossbody for weekend errands.
That hat!  I want one so bad!
Distressed skinnies - after ripping (where rips shouldn't be) my favorite pair I'm on the hunt for a great deal and fit.
A perfectly plaid scarf to layer over, well, everything!!

Hm, I would even wear all of these things together!

all the classics

vest - jc penny (similar) // shirt - gap (similar) // jeans - gap // booties - steve madden via marshals (similar) // bag - relic via marshals // necklace - charming charlie

I forced my sister to buy this vest; trying to convince her that faux fur is a closet staple.  She disagrees with me to this day on that point and gave me this vest to "rock" since she won't wear it.   I just love how this outfit came out; the stripes, the leopard the cuffed skinnies, booties and statement necklace.  Everything just ties together so well, if I do say so myself.  Yes, that is me tooting my own horn.  You have to do that sometimes, see.  It makes you feel good about yourself :)

I had a great weekend and hope you all did too!

(quick and easy) weekend workout

I definitely thought my fall would slow down a bit. I'm not certain where I found that assumption, because typically it's my busiest season with dance.   For me a 15-20 minute workout is all I'm looking for to get a quick burn and ease a little stress.   I found this workout below on Pinterest and I love it.  It's quick, easy, and is sure to get your heart rate going.   The best part?  You can do it in the comfort of your own home (depending on the length of your jump rope).  So get dressed work it out and then go out and enjoy some fall foliage, pumpkin picking or hay rides!

3 ways to wear faux fur vest

On Tuesday I rounded up a few classic cut jackets and outerwear that I think are essential to upgrade or add to your closet this season.   One of the pieces I chose is the fur vest.  I definitely think this is a closet staple and a great addition to anybody's wardrobe.  It's versatility and functionality are key for this seasons unpredictable weather and layering trends.   I currently have two in my closet and have also been inspired by a few images floating around pinterest and on instagram.
Today I've styled this arguably classic piece three ways.

The second look is definitely mostly my syle; but, I love the idea of layering a shaggy vest over a sleek dress as shown in the first style board.  Add edgy booties and a fun eye catching statement and you're ready for date night!

The third look is inspired by this pic of OP floating around.  I spoke about it being one of my fall style inspirational looks last Friday.

testing the limits

moto - express (similar) // sweater - gap // jeans - old navy (similar) // shoes - target (similar)

I posted this outfit on Instagram yesterday.  I pushed the envelope a little bit with our "business casual" attire at work and went with the risqué trouser denim.  I have to say, it went without a hitch.  I thought for sure by noon someone would have confronted me on my daring move - yet, no one did.

I did get a remote (on eBay for $5) and am still getting used to it in addition to the settings on my camera in different and challenging light.  These shots came out a little grainy and I'm not sure why.
Oh well, practice makes perfect :)
