on tuesday of this past week my 30 day challenge came to a close. i learned quite a few things, for example - it's extremely difficult to sit in front of pizza and german chocolate cake while eating a plain piece of roast beef...
what i learned that stands out the loudest is to be ingredient conscious. this has taught me to scour the nutrition facts label of everything! i mean, things i never would have before like a chocolate bar. it has really taught me (even though i thought i knew this) that you can make healthy natural choices when you're out to eat.
my body feels great, if i skip a workout due to life i don't feel guilty because i don't feel bloaty! for most women this is truly key to feeling good about themselves. no bloat = no poochy tummy = wearing clothes that look and feel great on you without trying to hide parts of your body! i mean, of course i would promote wearing clothes that fit your body type and flatter you..
needless to say i'm going to try to stick to this as best i can. a lot of markets make it very simple to eat organic and natural now-a-days. we also have a natural food store here in rochester (lori's natural foods), this is wear i found the organic almond flour meal for my zucchini bread yesterday.
here's the recipe:
1/2 cup almonds, ground
1 small banana, fresh
1 cup zucchini, grated
2 medium egg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp honey
2 pieces Ghirardelli Midnight Reverie 86% Cocoa (or any other brand you'd like)
1 tsp baking powder
Mix all together and put into a greased bread pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 mins or until fully cooked
Oh we're all still learning a few good things for ourselves everyday, and like you I'll try to eat more organic foods, I'll just look the other way when it comes to their high price.
