textured

I love this skirt I have.  It has survived many a closet purge and every time I have the opportunity to wear it I'm so happy I saved it.  So classy and easy, the tapestry texture is gorgeous.   I bought it on super sale at Express years ago!!  It does need to take a trip to the tailor along with a pair of dress pants which are just too big now.  (A good problem to have, I suppose!)

This week has drained me something fierce!  It was month end at work, in the mortgage industry month end is an insane time where everyone wants to close and managers are running around begging for "one more file" from each of us to hit goal.  I think that has aided in, not only my style rut, but my exhaustion.  I'm ready for a recharge.  Weekend where are you?

summer lovin'

This summer is flying by!  I cannot believe it.  Even nights like last night, sitting on the boat with my aunt and sisters just relaxing while docked.  Insane.   I hope you all are having as much fun as I am having.  Seems every weekend is filled with exciting activities.  This weekend, for example, I'll be heading up to Toronto to watch some soccer (Toronto Football Club) with a friend and then Sunday I'm going to see Toby Keith.  Which I'm SO excited about.  He is my absolute favorite country singer!

Also, after my initial freak out of the "business casual" attire that started Monday, I'm surprisingly wearing almost my normal clothes.  Of course there are a few exceptions here and there, but I've only pulled out two things so far that I wouldn't have normally worn.  Not to shabby I'd say.

How's everyone's summer shaping up?

the neutral zone

This is the type of shirt that while driving to work it wrinkles up.  I read our official new "dress code policy" yesterday and wrinkled clothing was on the not acceptable list.  I turned to a co-worker and said "well I better purchase a mini steamer to keep in my desk".  My clothes are always wrinkled by the time I get to work!
Coming back to work after a week off was a struggle.  I really turned to something quite comfortable to get me through.  Although, I actually cannot walk very well in this dress.  This pencil is just long enough to make me feel more like shimmying rather than walking.  Tiny steps.
It was also so humid out by the time I took these snaps that I'm surprised I'm not absolutely melting in this photographs...   Hope you are all surviving the heat wave!
