leopard and leather

vest - jc.penny, similar // shirt - marshals, similar // leggings - groopdealz, similar // booties - old navy, similar

A girl I work with told me I was headed to "Da Club" in this outfit today.  I told her I'd likely sweat my bootie off in this vest in Da Club, it's so cozy.  Perfect for over a chiffon shirt and a brisk day!
This is a copy cat of AJ from AJ Wears Clothes when she paired her sequin collared shirt with her vest I thought it looked pretty wicked so I wanted to give it a whirl.
I've also styled these leather panel leggings with my flannel shirt, poncho sweater, graphic tee and cardigan - they're super versatile.

The week is almost over - do you have fun plans for the weekend!!?

get in my closet - holiday edition!

I have an extra case of the gimmies this week due to missing Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  I also have Holiday style on the brain - I mean, we should all be gearing up for parties and gift exchanges, right?  Right.

I love all the gold, red and black together.  You all know it's my thing to mix textures and styles; I would die to have this gold sequined cardigan to pair with my lace LBD and sparkly red polish.
Add a bold lip, fierce booties and you are ready to hit the Holiday party scene!

tangled in blue

sweater - gap, similar // jeans - gap // heels - target, similar // bag - michael kors

I'm always so inspired by Blair at Atlantic-Pacific and her ability to look stunning and natural in an oversized sweater, boyfriend jeans and spikes.

I hope you all had a great weekend!  We got our first real snow and I put up my Christmas decorations.  I went a little crazy in The Christmas Tree Shoppe - that place is amazing, I hope you have one by you.  Literally the most random things on the planet for a steal.   Sure, they may not make it to the next season but for $6.99 who cares!
As we prepare for our Regional Championships (Mid-Atlantic Region Oireachtas) I'm feeling really happy about how our dancers have progressed and that they've really turned into the best dancers they can be right now.  I cannot wait to see them on stage this coming week and see what they can actually do!   Besides the dancing, the "O" is my favorite weekend of the year because I get to spend it with my besties.   We get to wear sequins, have mimosas for breakfast and run around in heels all weekend.  It's hell on Earth and I couldn't ask for more.

OTK

blazer - loft, similar // top - boutique in los angeles, similar // denim - american eagle // boots - shoemint // bag - relic via marshals

I didn't think I could pull off the OTK trend; but when I saw these boots on sale for (take a deep breath, I hope you're sitting, are you sitting?  I was serious) $30 I had to take a chance and scoop them up.  I figured if all failed, I'd sell them and keep my $30 secret to myself.  Yes, I'm greedy like that.    This style is perfect for my short little frame, though.  They aren't an exaggerated OTK and with the high chunky heel the look is balanced.

Anyhoo - how was everyone's weekend!?  I had a great time thrifting with my aunt on Saturday, I can't wait to show you the snaps and stories this week.   Stay tuned!  Also, I'd like to just apologize for my lazy/missing posts and commenting.  This time of year it's hard to wear 3 hats.  Full Time Employee for a mortgage company hat,  Dance teacher and co-director of a studio hat and blogger hat.  It's coming extremely close to our impending regional championships (Thanksgiving weekend) and although the kids are looking GREAT (which is awesome of course) it is still a lot of extra work on my partners and myself.   In the end it's definitely worth it, but oh the struggle getting there!!  I write this lounging enjoying Frank Sinatra Radio on Sunday morning sipping coffee procrastinating on my workout, chores, errands to only then go to the studio and roll out our new flooring.   Alas things must get done.  So for the next couple weeks I'm doing my best to schedule posts and utilize the editorial calendar I've mapped out and I promise come December I'll be back at it full force :)  I know that some of you do WAY more than I do - we all have our limits I guess.  But I want to THANK YOU for continuing to support my little hobby and passion!!!

again with the fur

fur vest - charlotte russe, similar // dress - h&m, similar // boots - sole society // clutch - jcpenny, similar

Hey guys, this is not the outfit I had planned on posting today.  Unfortunately there was just not enough hours in the daylight yesterday to photograph my Annie Hall-esque outfit.  So, here's what I wore to a friends 30th birthday bash Saturday night.  I layered this vest so that I didn't have to carry a coat; most places we went luckily had a coat check because this sucker is WARM.  Which, I suppose was the point.

This is another look that would be perfect for a Holiday Soiree! Are you all ready for that time of year?  I definitely am; the songs,  parties, the holiday bustle, decorating and gift planning it's all so exciting.
What do you have planned for Thanksgiving?

pea coats and pleats

coat - h&m, similar // shirt - old navy, similar // skirt - express, similar // belt - charlotte russe, similar // shoes - solesociety

I'm having a bit of fun remixing my pieces while I'm "not shopping".   This skirt I've had for ages and wore it last here.   I think this look so says Holiday Soiree.
I find that with the few pieces I have purchased I'm able to come up with endless outfit options.  Which, is a good thing for me because I come down with symptoms of FOMO and the Gimme's.
It is so fun rediscovering pieces in your closet and making them feel new again!

pencil skirts and pointy toes

camo jacket - wet seal (similar) // peplum blouse - express (similar) // skirt - old navy (similar) // shoes - solesociety // bracelet and necklaces - siramara // sunnies - old navy in stores

Well happy Thursday friends!  I'm so ready for the weekend, how about you?  I have off for Veteran's Day and am just grateful for a long weekend!
I'm also in love with my new SoleSociety pumps.  EEEEE!!!!  Aren't they darling with the pointy toe and the bow? I die.

vest on repeat

vest - jcpenny (similar) // dress h&m via @shoptheresamillio instagram shop (similar) // booties, necklace, and earrings - old navy in stores // bracelet - siramara

Sorry not sorry for a repeat wear of this vest.  It's so cozy, though!!  I tossed it over this dress on a whim while setting out my outfits and didn't think the look was complete until I added the accessories.

How is everyone's week going?  It is getting a little crazy for me.  See, as an Irish dance teacher we are preparing a set amount of dancers for our Regional Championships over Thanksgiving weekend.   The whole summer the dancers prepare their routines for their 2 minutes of fame.  The solo competitors hope for a recall and a high enough placement to qualify for North American Nationals and Worlds.   It's intense, but honestly one of the best weekends of the whole year.   You are literally running around trying to be glamorous yet on point with all your dancers, plus you are around people who obsess over Irish dance just as you do.   Needless to say I'm starting to get really excited!!  I can't wait to share my outfits with you guys! :)

Happy Hump Day!

confession hour

scarf - amazon (similar) / blazer - gap (similar) / dress - forever 21 (similar) / boots - american eagle (similar) / bag - relic via marshalls

This look is brought to you by no heat at work.
CONFESSION: I typically set out a weeks worth of outfits on Sunday night.  It's my ritual and it's very anal comforting and fun! I look at the weather forecast for the week and I try to dress as appropriate for the weather as I can.  I stand in front of my closet for, oh, I don't know, maybe an hour or so... pull out pieces that I haven't worn in a while first.  Try to pull outfits together using those pieces.  Then I try to pull anything new I have (which if you read yesterdays post you know is going to be sparse for a while).  I try to set out Monday through Thursday and since Friday is "casual" I kind of wing it unless there is a look I really want to recreate.

I wore this on Tuesday, it was 70.  So, I'm a little over layered for 70 in my book.  But my office is freeeezing; I needed that scarf and boot sock layer for sure!  I love it when I have to dress for necessity and the look still comes out how you like it.  I've had this dress for a long time and honestly don't wear it often enough.

Do you have any confessions?
