Today I'm linking up with the gorgeous Lauren of Walking in Memphis in High Heels and the lovely Erin of The Fashion Canvas to give you Holiday Wear.  There's a lot of this going on around here, isn't there...?!   I've been dying to style this plaid flannel for the Holidays.  I already cannot stop wearing it with jeans, skirts, you name it and the colors and overall feel of the shirt screams Christmas.

I have big plans to change things up around here in 2014.  If you have any ideas of what you'd like to see - please email or comment letting me know!!
Anyways I can change up the weekly workouts?
Any trends you want to see?
Let me know!

Hope your week is off to a great start, 7 shopping days till Christmas!!

holiday gift guide - brother & sister

Hands down my favorite gift to pick out and purchase each year is that of whichever sister I get in the gift exchange we do.  Of course, giving is fun no matter the recipient, but a little extra special something goes into the thought of the gift for your sibling.

I always try to pick out something within their taste but that they may not pick out for themselves or never thought they'd like.

what are you picking out your brother or sister this season?

As you can see I'm making some updates to the blog.   With my rudimentary (at best) skills, bear with me while I update my artwork and themes.

holiday style guide with karissa & company!

Today I've teamed up with the adorable Karissa of Karissa & Company to bring you a Holiday Style guide.  We each put together two Holiday looks to inspire you this season!  I must say, it's so fun to team up with great bloggers.  I love that I get to work with some awesome and inspiring people along the way!  I hope you check out Karissa's blog - not only is she just darling, she shares her awesome fashion sense, tidbits of her lifestyle and DIY projects!

I love this sparkly frock that Karissa is sporting. Literally want to steal it right off of her.  It works so well with the belt and tights!

I decided to dress up a classic LBD with a little extras.  I love the rouching detail on the front and back of this dress.  Takes it up a notch from your typical LBD.

Karissa's second look would be perfect for your office (or Husband's office) holiday party gathering.  Professional and festive!

I styled my gold sequin skirt with a plain white button up.  I just love the gold and white hues this time of year; without trying to hard you have a great look for an office party.

First look - my LBD is from Express, here's a similar style
Second look - Shirt, American Eagle
Skirt, Marshalls, similar
Tights, Target
Shoes, Solesociety

There you have it folks  - four looks to inspire you this season!

what to wear - 2 looks for a holiday soiree

Tis the season to be gathering often with loved ones, colleagues, friends and maybe strangers.    I've put together two looks for you today - an office party look and a family/friends party look.   They could be interchangeable, but I think that a two piece set is more office appropriate verses a one piece dress.

The office party look - don't you just love this swingy skirt style?  Paired with a fun sequin shirt, statement necklace that isn't too over the top and a nice shoe and bag this is perfect for sipping your punch or chatting with colleagues.

The family/friends party look - a simple dress and simple jewels.  I would add opaque tights a comfortable but cute shoe (especially if you're the host!) and you may or may not need a fun clutch to add some sparkle to your set.

get in my closet - holiday edition!

I have an extra case of the gimmies this week due to missing Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  I also have Holiday style on the brain - I mean, we should all be gearing up for parties and gift exchanges, right?  Right.

I love all the gold, red and black together.  You all know it's my thing to mix textures and styles; I would die to have this gold sequined cardigan to pair with my lace LBD and sparkly red polish.
Add a bold lip, fierce booties and you are ready to hit the Holiday party scene!

again with the fur

fur vest - charlotte russe, similar // dress - h&m, similar // boots - sole society // clutch - jcpenny, similar

Hey guys, this is not the outfit I had planned on posting today.  Unfortunately there was just not enough hours in the daylight yesterday to photograph my Annie Hall-esque outfit.  So, here's what I wore to a friends 30th birthday bash Saturday night.  I layered this vest so that I didn't have to carry a coat; most places we went luckily had a coat check because this sucker is WARM.  Which, I suppose was the point.

This is another look that would be perfect for a Holiday Soiree! Are you all ready for that time of year?  I definitely am; the songs,  parties, the holiday bustle, decorating and gift planning it's all so exciting.
What do you have planned for Thanksgiving?

pea coats and pleats

coat - h&m, similar // shirt - old navy, similar // skirt - express, similar // belt - charlotte russe, similar // shoes - solesociety

I'm having a bit of fun remixing my pieces while I'm "not shopping".   This skirt I've had for ages and wore it last here.   I think this look so says Holiday Soiree.
I find that with the few pieces I have purchased I'm able to come up with endless outfit options.  Which, is a good thing for me because I come down with symptoms of FOMO and the Gimme's.
It is so fun rediscovering pieces in your closet and making them feel new again!

How to: Dress for Easter

Easter marks the beginning of spring.   Spring is so fresh with new life, or it will be once all the snow melts! Spring is also fresh with new dress trends and colors!  I am always inspired to attempt to switch my closet over to all frocks this time of year.  They are so easy, and really not that bad of a deal if you consider they're a head to toe look (when considering the price tag, I mean).    I can't stop pairing these adorable eyelet and lace adorned dresses with cute, playful accessories.   Whether it's Church your off to, brunch or dinner with your family you will be dressed to the 9's.
I hope it's warm enough in your area this weekend for you to sport a girly, adorable little sundress!  I've styled a few here.  You'll notice that I like to select clothing from the same few stores.  That's because I love putting together affordable looks for you ladies!

Have a great holiday weekend!!
