Hello Friends!!  Back to reality this week for me; last week was our recital for the studio and it was crazy-ness all week long.   It was a great show, though!!  

I also bought a new car (as if I didn't have enough going on).   Pretty stoked to have a reliable vehicle though even if it does mean less shopping allowance (insert squinty emoji face). 

I took yesterday off for a little R&R, this was my super laid back look for a few errands, laundry and hanging with my Mama.  I also enjoyed a few 'ritas with my sister & co. for Cinco de Mayo (der).   So nice to chill without a to do list looming.

Spring has finally sprung!  Oh thank you to whoever decided we were so worthy!  With the temps finally in bare leg, toes out range I'm going crazy for all my spring dresses and shoes.  I'm loving anything bright colored, floral and easy.  That's what spring is about, right?  Fresh easy stylings with patterns, colors, whatever your little heart so desires.  

Last Saturday (before the *hopefully* last snow storm) I swapped my closet.  Yeah, I know not exactly the ideal day but it worked out in my favor afterwards :) 

Now whenever I peer into my closet I am greeted by my bright and bold sun dresses verses the furs and winter blazers.   I am so stoked to mix my favorite pieces with the new trends of this season!

I gave my furs a break the past couple weeks but I assure you it's definitely not warming up any time soon and they will be back!

This week's edition of Weekend Inspiration I bring you three looks that I straight up want to copy from Pinterest/Blogs I love.  

The very best part of Pinterest is the introduction to new and exciting faces that you've never cyber met before.  You find them interesting in one snapshot and then become life long followers of their life through fashion, food, or whatever they blog about.

I just stumbled on Kat's blog this week when I pinned the first image in the above set.  Her style is so classy and gorgeous any girl would want to be her in her photos. 

Jess from Here & Now I've been following for a while now and I adore her sense of style and humor.   She always has unique and chic looks that I want to try and replicate! 

Cathy the Poor Little It Girl is another whom I found via pinterest but some time ago.  Her style is witty and classic.  I love how she paired the tweed, tee and tulle together in a look I'm sure to imitate!

Maybe it's the 50 degree day I'm about to step into that is making me all floral and bright colored again.    Or, maybe it's that everyone is now sick of their basics and are ready to change it up.  

1. I just love how effortlessly cool this girl looks with her scarf worn as a wrap.  The jeans, the loafers, all of it makes it.  

2.  Gosh darn it, I need a hat and a silky floral shirt.   What a great pallet for a floral pattern - so versatile. 

3.  My girl crush continues for Kendi. Loving her look here and she's making me want to chop my hair off!

As I'm not shopping, or trying not to anyways (I may "need" that hat in my life) I'm trying to pin outfits or inspiration for one of two things... 

1. outfits comprised of items I have exactly or similar to already

2. inspiration for spring wardrobe update (that floral shirt would be one)

Since said holes have arrived I try to keep the wearing to the weekends.  A trip to the tailor is soon to come because I cannot part with these babies.  

This sweater is so luxurious at a price I couldn't pass up (pre shopping ban, of course) while Gap was having their big winter sale plus an additional 40% off.   The cut is perfection and the fabric being a cotton cashmere blend, luscious.   You will be seeing a few new pieces that I purchased in December but I will be taking part in the infamous #2014closetremixchallenge join the party on Instagram!

On Saturday's I want to share with you my favorite pins from the week.  Looks I'm inspired by, or would like to recreate out of my own pieces.   

These three looks are definitely re-creatable for me.  Let's break them down; 

1. Chunky sweater and midi skirt.  Hmm, I have a midi dress that I could easily put a sweater over, boom.

2.  Leather moto, graphic tee, torn jeans.   I'm a little sad I didn't scoop that J.Crew shirt up while it was on sale, in my size and pre-shopping freeze.  This look is super easy to recreate! 

3. I've been pinning different ways to wear my tutu skirt I purchased for my 30th bash.  A full a-line goes great dressed down with a striped tee and denim jacket.

2 fall weekend looks!

YOU GUYS! I missed you!  I have my laptop back and I'm ready to talk about fall style!  It's been a little really warm here this week but that has not stopped me from rocking the booties, denim jackets and puffy vests!  The cool, crisp fall air just makes me want to go apple picking while a pot of chili is stewing in the crockpot.  
It also is making me go back to basics style idea.  Simple button downs with layered sweaters, cardis and tees, comfy soft jeans and booties, layers, layers and more layers.

I styled two weekend looks for you today.  Both looks I've been absolutely lusting over all week despite the indian summer-like weather.

Take the first look to the farm market!  The plaid is super cliche and cozy paired with the quilted vest.  Boyfriend jeans (der) and desert booties keep you looking chic!

Take the second look shopping or running errands.  The sweater dress is the perfect compromise on a warmer day, add a scarf and denim jacket when the temps drop.  Aren't those flats to die for?  Adorable print!!

It's about this time of year when all my clothes seem impossibly worn out and I'm ready for a change up.   I'm happily welcoming the cooler air and the opportunity to pair a button down with shorts.   I wouldn't say I'm ready for fall, it's not that extreme, we haven't had that bad of a summer.  Last year was scorching hot from March to September.  An insanely long time.  It took forever for summer to arrive and yet I'm still kind of over it and August has barely begun!

weekend workout & workout wear

The heat wave has finally left the northeast in peace!! That means this weekend I'm taking advantage of the cooler air and warm sun and hitting the trails.  It's been a while since I've been on a legit hike, and it's something that I used to do often and really enjoy.   My aunt and I used to go weekly, I'd love to get back in the swing of that habit.  

While hiking I usually carry water and we use a pedometer to track how long we've gone.  I typically enjoy wearing my Chaco hiking sandals.  They are hippy sandals, truly.  But, are so comfortable, supportive, and your feet can breathe - which is always better in the summer. 

Get out and enjoy the day before summer's over! :)

my weekend style

My weekend style is best described as "comfy chic".  I just throw on clothes and hope it turns out ok.  Now that I've been planning my outfits a few days in advance it saves me from my "what to wear" freakout that seems to annoy every one in my life, including me! 

On the weekends I try to keep it simple with usually a tee and jeans, maybe some cute and comfortable shoes, little to no make-up (unless I have a date of course).  Like many of you, I'm running errands, grocery shopping, maybe meeting a friend or sister for lunch, etc.
